    The CSEP Advanced Module Series provides online webinars on various topics as continuing education opportunities.

    Exercise and Chronic Disease 

    4 highly developed online webinar modules featuring the latest clinical practice guidlines in the areas of:

    1.Exercise and Cardiovascular Disease - Thursday April 23rd 4:00pm EST

    • Angina and Myocardial Infraction
    • Atrial Fibrillation
    • Peripheral Arterial Disease

    2.Exercise and Metabolic Syndrome - Thursday April 30th 4:00pm EST (possible change to 12:00pm EST)

    • Hypertension
    • Obesity
    • Dyslipidemia
    • Type 2 Diabetes

    3.Exercise and Neuromuscular Disease - Friday May 8th PST 4:00pm EST

    • Parkinson's Disease
    • Multiple Sclerosis
    • Fibromyalgia

    4. Exercise and Musculoskeletal Disease - Thursday May 14th 4:00pm PST

    • Osteoarthritis
    • Rheumatoid
    • Osteoporosis

    Each session will take approximately 2 hours. All sessions will be recorded and available to view for at least 1 week, so if you need to miss part or all of a session you will be able to view the recording.

    These modules will be delivered by Dr. Gareth Jones. Participation in the 4 sessions gives CSEP members with 10 PDCs! Participate in one session and receive 2 PDCs.

    Cancer and Exercise

    • Cancer Epidemiology, Biology and Therapy
    • Cancer Therapy Toxicity
    • Exercise Oncology
    • Exercise Guidelines & Adherence Considerations.

    Each section will take ~2:00 hours. Participation in this webinar series gives CSEP members 10 PDCs!

    These modules will be delivered by Dr. Daniel Santa Mina, an expert in Cancer and Exercise

    Dr. Daniel Santa Mina is a Clinician-Scientist at ELLICSR: Health, Wellness and Cancer Survivorship Center at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Dr. Santa Mina is also Head of Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber. He is an Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology and Registered Kinesiologist. Dr. Santa Mina obtained his training as a Cancer Exercise Specialist from the University of Northern Colorado at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Rehabilitation Institute and Wellspring. Dr. Santa Mina’s graduate and post-doctoral research has focused on the physiological and psychosocial benefits of exercise interventions for cancer survivors, in particular men with prostate cancer. As the Program Lead of the Wellness & Exercise for Cancer Survivors (WE-Can) program at the Princess Margaret, Dr. Santa Mina oversees the clinical and research activity related to exercise programming in oncology.
